Spectacular Saltwater Therapy.

Carney was invited down to Bude in September of 2019 to film with Help for Heroes and The Endeavour Fund.  He and Fleur produced this short film to give an insight into the incredibly powerful positive impact that experiences like this can have on these individuals.

Operation Surf set out to help vets cope with PTSD and mental and emotional stress by teaching them to surf.  How can surfing change the lives of ex-forces personnel?  1 in 3 combat troops are diagnosed with serious PTSD symptoms.  Less than 40% of them seek help.  More and more research has demonstrated the healing effects of surfing on the brain and body.

Marty Aldrich is Sports Recovery Manager at Help for Heroes and we're very privileged to have been invited by him and the team to be part of this exceptional event.  The 15 novice surfers at the event are all on a recovery journey, being supported so strongly by these individuals, some of whom are still on their own journey.  It is a very beautiful thing.
